What oz. (weight) boxing gloves do you recommend for sparring? I have some 10 oz. to use on my bag at home, will these be okay?

Thanks for the question about boxing gloves.
I would avoid using the 10 oz. boxing gloves for sparring, they are a little too light (not enough padding) to hit your opponent safely with. I always advise 14oz to 16oz to spar with, if you are over 12 and a half stone leaning more towards the 16oz. gloves.
The way I see sparring is much more of a trying your techniques out safely exercise and not a slug fest, so the more padded the gloves the safer the session is.
I teach my students, that if they get into the ring and realise they are more capable than their opponent that they should work more on their defense and let their training partner attack more and let them get used to ring.I hope this helps and have enjoy your sparring.
Best wishes and good luck!
